They are saying nothing good ever occurs after 10 p.m., and that was the case late Wednesday evening in Lompoc when a two-story single-family house with eight individuals inside caught fireplace, in keeping with a press release launched Thursday afternoon by Battalion Chief Kevin Shay.
At 10:23 p.m. on August 30, Lompoc Hearth Division, Santa Barbara County Hearth, and Vandenberg Area Pressure Base Hearth Division responded to a number of calls of a construction fireplace within the 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue on Lompoc’s south aspect. In line with Shay, the “crews have been met with heavy fireplace circumstances” and took fast motion to manage and extinguish the hearth, limiting the hearth harm to the house’s second flooring.
All inside managed to securely exit the home with out damage. An investigation is underway to find out the trigger and origin of the hearth.
